What Year 10 covers

- Ratio, proportion, compound measures and growth and decay
- Geometry: trigonometry, circle theorems, vectors, transformations
- Probability and statistics, including cumulative frequency and histograms (Higher)
- Number: surds, indices, bounds and error intervals

How Year 10 is assessed
GCSE Maths is three 90-minute papers sat at the end of Year 11: Paper 1 non-calculator, Papers 2 and 3 calculator. Most schools set a Year 10 mock in the summer term, which often decides the final tier of entry.

Questions parents ask
Foundation or Higher?
Foundation runs grades 1 to 5 and Higher 4 to 9. If your child is working at grade 4 or 5, the choice matters and depends on how secure the algebra is. We give you a clear view after the diagnostic paper.
Do you teach AQA, Edexcel and OCR?
Yes, and Eduqas. The content is the same; the wording, paper structure and mark schemes differ, so we use your board’s own papers from the start.
How much homework do you set?
A short, targeted set of questions between lessons, usually 20 to 30 minutes. Enough to make the method stick, not so much that it competes with school.
