The Tutors Room is a UK online tutoring agency. We recruit qualified teachers, check them, and match your child with one teacher for a one-to-one lesson at the same time every week, from KS2 to A-level.
Qualified teachers in every subject.
Our tutors are qualified teachers who have taught their subject in UK schools, from KS2 to A-level: maths, English, the sciences, languages, humanities and more.
The idea is simple: one-to-one lessons from real teachers, at a fair price, with no contract. Every teacher goes through the same checks before they teach.
Before anyone teaches with us
- Teaching qualifications. We check their teacher training and their experience teaching the subject in UK schools.
- A thorough interview. A detailed interview on how they teach, how they explain, how they plan and the students they suit.
- Two references. We take them up before a teacher’s first lesson.
- A DBS check. We check or arrange one, for working with children.
- Right to work in the UK. Checked before their first lesson.
Real teachers, at a fair price.
A real teacher changes the lesson. It shouldn’t cost agency prices.
- They know what the examiner wantsTeachers teach the specification and mark against the real mark schemes, so lessons go straight at the marks your child is dropping.
- They know how to explain itTrained to teach, so when one explanation doesn’t land they have three more. Knowing a subject and teaching it are different skills.
- They have taught it in a classroomWe look for teachers who have taught their subject in UK schools, to classes full of children stuck exactly where yours is.
