What you should get for the money
The hourly price tells you little by itself. Before you pay anyone, check four things.
- A tutor who has taught the A-Level. Ask for the tutor's name, their teaching qualification and how many years they have taught A-Level Maths or Further Maths.
- Your exam board and options. The boards split the content across the papers differently, and in Further Maths the optional units differ. Lessons should follow your child's board and options.
- The same tutor every week. Progress comes from someone who knows where the gaps are and picks up where the last lesson stopped.
- A way to see progress. A short note after each lesson, and a regular check against the target grade.
